Volunteer of the Show

The RAS relies on over 2000 volunteers each year to assist with the running of the Royal Show. From the group of dedicated volunteers, a person who makes outstanding commitment for the eight days of the Show is selected as "Volunteer of the Show". This award is presented at an annual BBQ held in November. The criteria of the awards includes:

  • Initiative shown by the individual
  • Attention to duty/detail
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm/Commitment
  • Reliability

Peter received his award in recognition of his positive contribution in his seventh year as an event volunteer at the Perth Royal Show.  His enthusiasm and friendly manner is welcomed in the many areas in which he volunteers such as Follow the Yellow Brick Road, Information Booths, animal patting and interactive education displays.  Peter is genuinely interested in every section and willing to assist with any tasks.  He offers patrons a positive experience at the Show and is a wonderful ambassador for RASWA.
