Royal Agricultural Society of WA Welcomes New General Manager

21 May 2024 – The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) proudly announces the appointment of Joanna Hos as its new General Manager – Agriculture and Events. Bringing a breadth of Executive leadership expertise and a passion for Western Australia’s cultural and agricultural sectors to the role, Joanna will be integral in helping to drive forward RASWA’s 5-year strategic plan.
In this newly created role Joanna will oversee delivery of the iconic Perth Royal Show, expand commercial opportunities for RASWA and oversee the more than 100 annual events presented at the Royal Agricultural Society in Claremont, Western Australia. She will drive innovation and engagement with the Perth Royal Show competitions, Perth Royal Food Awards and agricultural education programs. Her leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of RASWA as it continues to celebrate the best in WA, by bringing people together to grow the future of food and agriculture.
A former recipient of the prestigious 40 Under 40 Award, Joanna has spent the past 11 years serving as an Executive leader at ARTRAGE, a prominent arts organisation renowned for its development and delivery of major events and activities, including the FRINGE WORLD Festival, Rooftop Movies, and regional tours.
Her familial ties to farming, with her sister and brother-in-law being merino and wheat farmers in the Wheatbelt, have provided her with firsthand experience of the agricultural sector. This exposure has instilled in her a profound respect for farmers and a keen appreciation for the indispensable role of agriculture in our community.
Speaking on the appointment, Joanna said: “As a WA local, and passionate advocate for our state I am delighted to take on this role, which offers an incredibly exciting opportunity to help define the future of RASWA, and the iconic Perth Royal Show. RASWA is an organisation with an incredibly rich history, and I am looking forward to working with the fantastic team here at RASWA as we continue to adapt, diversify and celebrate the best of WA.”
