2019 Rural Ambassador Mackenzie Walmsley
November 1, 2019
Mackenzie Walmsley of Waroona has taken out the recent Rural Ambassador Award after winning the South West Zone competition in July. Mackenzie is passionate about using agricultural shows to improve education about the agricultural industry. She hopes to use her win to inspire and improve things for future generations.
The Rural Ambassador Award is part of the Rural Leaders Program coordinated by RASWA to provide opportunities for those living and working in regional WA. Supporting young people interested in pursuing a career in agriculture, the competition has five heats held in regional areas with 63 agricultural societies across the State taking part in the competition.
Mackenzie will represent WA for 12 months and will also go on to the Australasian Titles which will be held in New Zealand in 2020.
