Express your interest for our Community Garden project!

February 29, 2024

The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia is currently seeking expressions of interest from consulting individuals or organisations with knowledge or of community garden planning, design and management.

The Project

Within Phase One, RASWA will commission a study to assess the feasibility for a community (communal) garden at the Claremont Showground.

We envisage a unique model of community garden that will serve the local evolving Claremont community and also showcase sustainable community gardening and WA’s agricultural diversity to the broader population who visit the Showground – both in and out of ‘Showtime’. Community and stakeholder consultation will be incorporated within this first phase of the project and conducted with support from RASWA. Recommendations from the study are expected to inform on how the needs of all stakeholders can be addressed.

Opportunity

We are currently inviting people experienced and passionate in:

  • horticulture and/or community gardening,
  • community consultation and codesign, and
  • project management and stakeholder analysis

to provide consulting services over three months (May to July 2024, negotiable) and produce recommendations to fulfil our Phase One objectives.

If this sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you. Please send a one-page proposal on why you would love to get involved and what you can contribute, along with an indication of fees charged and a current CV(s).

For an informal discussion, call Cate Pattison, Grants Officer, on (08) 6263 3100. Please send your proposals to cate.pattison@raswa.org.au by 8 March 2024.
